There are two White Faced Herons that live on the farm. Their favourite place to linger is on a newly constructed deck that looks over a small dam filled with fish and Yabbies. As you can imagine they make a good deal of mess. I love them so but dislike the work they present to clean the decking.

Sadly I’ve had to place a scare crow on the deck to discourage them. They still frequent the area although I only get glimpses from afar rather be able to closely watch their prancing around while courting or just standing vigilantly on the rails.
